The City of Red Deer has been receiving a more than usual number of complaints about missing or open manhole covers and catch basins.
As a result, the city is reminding residents to report such incidents if they see them.
When manhole covers or catch basins are removed, it poses a risk to drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and anyone using the roadway or green space, the city said in a news release Monday.
Anyone who notices a grate or cover is missing or being tampered with, is asked to call 403-342-8750 immediately to report it.
