Chura Montgomery, ‘The Magnetic Voice’ is set to perform this weekend at Red Deer’s first-ever Afro-Caribbean Festival.

Montgomery’s songs are mostly sung in Spanish and draw from stories she hears, as well as her own life experiences.

She will perform Saturday from 12-1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as 12-1 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. on Sunday.

the inaugural Afro-Caribbean Festival will take place at Veteran’s Park and Ross Street Patio on Ross Street, between 50 Avenue and 49 Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a variety of activities and entertainment performing on two main stages at the event, including live music and a fashion show, as well as vendors, children’s games at City Hall Park and more.
