The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame will wait to honour the Class of 2020.

In an announcement earlier this week, the organization said they have postponed their induction banquet, which was originally slated for May 29.

In the release, they indicated the event will likely take place in the fall, with an official announcement expected later this year when there is more clarity on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Individuals that were set to be inducted included Deidra Dionne (Athlete, Freestyle Skiing), Chris Phillips (Athlete, Hockey), Kelly Sutherland (Athlete, Chuckwagon Racing) and Michael Robertson (Athlete, Snowboardcross). Builders that are entering the ASHOF are Jan Ullmark, Terry Morris and Ken Babey.

In addition, Nancy Southern & Ian Allison will be honoured as the Bell Memorial Award winners for excellence in broadcasting and journalism, John Currie as the achievement award winner, the pioneer award to Stan Wakelyn and the Legacy Award to Dennis Kadatz.
