Bantam AAA Rebels spilt weekend homestand

The Red Deer Bantam AAA Rebels grabbed two out of four points in Alberta Bantam AAA Hockey League play on the weekend.

The Red Deer Bantam AAA Rebels grabbed two out of four points in Alberta Bantam AAA Hockey League play on the weekend.

Sunday, they picked up a 3-2 win over the Calgary Bisons. Caleb Hadland scored the game-winner in the third period and Brock Lott earned the win in net. Chase Walker also scored a pair of tallies in the win.

Saturday, Red Deer dropped a 3-2 game to the Calgary Royals. The Rebels had a 2-1 lead in the third period but allow to goals in the final seven minutes on the way to the loss. Hadland and Walker also had the tallies in the loss. Brock Lott made 32 saves in the defeat.

Midget AAA

The Red Deer Optimist Chiefs lost a pair of contests in Alberta Midget Hockey League action on the weekend.

In their first game of the weekend, Jayden Henderson scored the only Red Deer goal in a 3-1 loss to the St. Albert Raiders. Optimist Chiefs goalie Colby Knight made 20 saves in the loss.

Sunday, the Optimist Chiefs fell 4-2 to the Knights of Columbus Pats. Red Deer led 1-0 after 40 minutes but allowed four goals by the Pats in the final frame on the way to the loss. Foxx Doell and Kaiden Ellertson had goals in the loss for Red Deer, while Tristain Baumung recorded a pair of assists.

Midget AAA Female

Saturday, the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs fell 4-2 to the Calgary Fire. Julianna Giacobbo and Chloe Shingoose had goals for Red Deer in the loss. Sutter Fund Chiefs goalie Ridleigh Hansen made 25.
