Carter Graf wins MJT opener in Vancouver

Sylvan Lake native Carter Graf got his golf season started on the right foot in Vancouver.

The 16-year-old topped the field at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour season opener on March 17, 18 and 19.

Graf, the 2017 MJT Juvenile Boys Champion fired a one-under-par 215 (70-71-74) to beat the nearest competitor by nine strokes.

“I hit the ball quite well and the driver was good. I feel pretty good about the victory, it is a good kick-start to the year,” Graf said in a press release.

The Alberta portion of the MJT will start on May 5-6 in Lethbridge.
