A pair of Red Deer Rebels are in the top 100 of the Central Scouting North American rankings for the 2021 NHL Draft.

Forward Jayden Grubbe and defenceman Kyle Masters both earned recognition, with Grubbe slotting in at 63 and Masters landing at 93.

Grubbe, 18, played just five games this season for Red Deer and posted a goal and three assists. The six-foot-two, 200-pound centre injured his knee in a collision on March 12 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

He underwent ACL surgery and the team said he should be ready in time for the 2021-22 WHL season. The Calgary product was also named the Rebels captain on March 5.

Masters, who just turned 18 last month had 10 assists in 20 games this season. The six-foot-one, 175-pound Edmonton product is ranked eighth among WHL defencemen for the upcoming draft.

The 2021 draft will be held virtually, with the first round July 23 and rounds 2-7 on July 24.
