The RDC Kings got back in the win column on day two of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championships.
Friday afternoon, the Kings took down the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder 95-76 and will play in the fifth-place game Saturday.
Fifth-year guard Spencer Klassen poured in a game-high 24 points in the victory, while three other Kings starters hit double figures. Fourth-year guard Tyronn King had a big game with a double-double, scoring 16 points, along with 10 rebounds five assists and two steals. Fourth-year Anthony Harper also approached a double-double, he put up 15 points and nine rebounds as well as four assists. Romero Martinez Quintanilla Jimenez added 15 points and seven rebounds for RDC.
RDC had a six-point lead at halftime and locked down defensively in the second half, outscoring the Thunder 53-28 down the stretch.
RDC held the Thunder to just 11 per cent from three-point range and 34 per cent from the field. The Kings meanwhile, hit 32 per cent from three, 38 per cent from the field and 84 per cent from the free throw line.
The Kings will play Saturday at 1 p.m.
