A gusty day made scoring tough at the Alberta Bantam Golf Championships at River Bend Golf and Recreation Area.
Kyle Krall of Inglewood Golf and Curling Club had the best round among the Bantam Boys, he fired a one-over-par 73 to lake the lead. MacKenzie Meadows’ Jeremy Hart is two strokes back at three-over-par.
Camrose product Jayla Kucy shot a seven-over, 79 to take the lead on the bantam girls side. She’s one ahead of Brooke Frerichs after the opening round. Kucy is red hot lately, fresh off a win in Ponoka at the McLennan Ross Alberta Junior Golf Tour Championship Friday.
Tyler Kidd leads the way in the Novice Boys Championship, he shot an even-par 72.
The 36-hole championship wraps up Tuesday.
