A trio of local golfers have made the cut at the Alberta Match Play Championships in Calgary.

Playing in the qualifying round Tuesday, Chander McDowell, Carter Graf and Jace Ouellette all finished inside the top 16 and will line up in the match play event at River Spirit on Wednesday.

Representing Innisfail Golf and Country Club, McDowell finished tied for second in the qualifying round with a one-under-par 71.

He’ll battle with Owen Murray of Calgary in the first round of match play.

Graf (Red Deer Golf and Country Club) fresh off earning an exemption to the Canadian Junior Golf Championships, finished tied for fourth with Ouellete. They fired an even-par 72 to earn a spot in the match play. Ouellete (Innisfail Golf and Country Club) will open against Carter Lewis and Grad will play Ethan de Graaf.

The final match will be played Thursday.
