Mike McAdam wins third title at 99th Central Alberta Amateur

At the Red Deer Golf and Country Club, McAdam shot a three-round score of even-par for the victory

Mike McAdam is now a three-time champion at the Central Alberta Amateur.

McAdam topped the field at the 99th edition of the event Monday at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club, with a three-round score of even-par, four strokes clear of runner-up Jordan Krulucki.

The RDGCC member was two strokes up heading into the final round and fired an even-par 72 to close out his third win at the event. He also captured the title in 2016 and 2018 and was the runner up in 2019.

The 2019 champion Garrett Scott finished third with a five-over, Andrew Haakman was fourth at eight-over and Jace Ouellette rounded out the top five at plus-11.

In the first flight, it was Connor O’Reilly who earned the title, finishing the three-round event with a plus-seven, 223. Cornelis Claasen was second at plus-10, Dan Roadhouse was third at 14-over, Michael Pruss finish fourth was plus-19 and Tim Watchorn rounded out the top five.

Kevin Rudosky won the second flight with a plus-13, Ron Harder finished second, David Rether came in third, Todd Blundell was fourth and Kenny Bulger was fifth.

Dale Bingham won the third flight, Kaare Odegard earned a win in the fourth flight, Daryl Tangermann won the fifth flight and Kevin Sproule captured the sixth flight.

Brian Laubman picked up a victory in the senior championship flight and Andrew Clark-Marlow won the senior first flight.
