The Notre Dame Cougars picked up a huge win in high school football non-conference play.

Hosting the Robert Thirsk Comets Saturday as part of Football Day in Red Deer, the Cougars earned a decisive 50-22 win at Great Chief Park.

Luc Lukalu and Spencer Henderson each ran for a touchdown and Quinton Kremp punched in a pair. Cougars quarterback Ethan Briault also connected with Audrin Uy for a touchdown.

Defensively, Notre Dame also had a big day. Jaxyn Flunder grabbed two interceptions and Ty Friss picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

Robert Thirsk was the number 10 ranked team in Tier II High School Football heading into the week according to Football Alberta.

The Cougars will travel to Grande Praire and take on the St. Joseph Celtics on Sept. 14.
