The Notre Dame Cougars were medalists once again at the Alberta Schools Athletic Association 2019 Badminton Provincials.
After winning the last three 4A provincial titles, the Cougars earned bronze at the 2019 event in Calgary on the weekend.
Shynelle Woroniuk and Anthony Chatwood led the team, winning gold in junior mixed doubles, without dropping a set all weekend. In the final, they edged Cathy Xin and Elon Wang of St. Paul Regional 21-16, 21-17.
Michlyn Griese and Kadence Thibault picked up a bronze medal victory in senior girls doubles play. They knocked off the duo of Katlyn Tulissi and Nicole Wieland of Okotoks 21-17, 21-10 to win bronze.
In junior boys singles play, Notre Dame’s Brent Maribojoc earned a fourth-place finish.
Hunting Hills Lightning player Cameron Frenette won bronze in intermediate boys singles action.
