The Central Alberta Sting Ringette hosted their annual Icebreaker Tournament in Lacombe this weekend.

Twenty-two teams from across the province in the U19AA, U16AA and U14AA age group competed at the tournament.

The Sting U19AA team finished round robin 1-2, and beat Edmonton in 4-2 in the playoffs to earn fifth place. Rachel Vandervlis had a pair of goals in the win and Saxon Anderson and Hanna Gill also scored.

In the U16AA bracket, the Sting also finished 1-2 in round robin. In the seventh-place game, the Sting beat Zone 2 4-1. Ryann Tonery had two goals, while Shaelynn Law and Sydney Schnoor added a pair.
