Queens and Kings lose at SAIT

The RDC Queens hung tough Saturday with the SAIT Trojans in Calgary but came up just short in a 43-41 loss.

The RDC Queens hung tough Saturday with the SAIT Trojans in Calgary but came up just short in a 43-41 loss.

SAIT, the top-ranked team in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference south division pulled off the narrow victory behind an 18-point performance from Alicia Tan.

RDC handed the Trojans only their second loss of the season Friday.

In the two-point defeat Saturday, third-year guard Eva Bonde again led the way for the Queens with 14 points. She was the only RDC player in double figures in the loss.

Third-year forward Emily White also had a strong afternoon, with a game-high 17 rebounds and six points. Lauren Bailey had a solid contest off the bench with seven points in 23 minutes of action.

The RDC Kings dropped their game to SAIT on Saturday after winning Friday.

The Trojans rode a 33-point third quarter to the win over RDC.

After the half, SAIT led 40-31 and then pulled away in the second.

Omon Edobar and Dshawn Tyrell had big games for RDC, each putting up 22 points in the loss. Cody White and Eric Bakker also each pitched in 11 points.
