RDC Queens hockey forward Camryn Wallan has been honoured for her academics.
Wallan, a third-year Bachelor of Education- Elementary student was recognized as the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Top Scholastic Achiever, as an Academic All-Canadian with the highest GPA.
Wallan and teammate Ashley Sutherland became Academic All-Canadians when they were selected to the All-Conference team and achieved academic honours.
Sutherland was a first-team all-conference player and lead all ACAC defenders in points and finished fifth among all skaters. The second-year played well at both ends of the ice and led the Queens with ten assists and 18 points. The Bachelor of Kinesiology student scored eight goals, tying Avery Lajeunesse for the team lead.

Wallan was named second-team all-conference, as the Beaverlodge product posted five goals, nine assists and 14 points during the regular season. She also had three game-winning goals, three power-play tallies on the year and was also an effective penalty killer for the Queens this season.
The duo, who served as alternate captains for the Queens, helped guide the team to a 15-6-3-0 record and a second-place finish in the ACAC regular season. Then they both played vital roles helping the Queens push the NAIT Ooks to double-overtime in the third game of the best-of-three semi-final.
