The RDC Queens are proving to be one of the best teams in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.
The Queens won their 10th straight match Saturday at SAIT, a three-set sweep (25-16, 25-14, 25-18) over the Trojans to close out the first half of the season. RDC was perfect in November with eight match wins.
Second-year outside hitter Emma Holmes led the charge for RDC, recording a match-high 12 kills on 21 attempts. She also had six digs, an ace and a stuff block.
Fourth-year middle McKenna Olson chipped in seven kills. Rookie setter Emma Letkeman also posted 27 assists in the victory.
The Queens are back on the floor on Jan. 10 against the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.
Saturday, the Kings needed four sets (25-21, 25-21, 20-25, 25-20) to down the Trojans. Rookie Carter Hills was the Kings’ biggest threat, finishing the game with 11 kills. Veteran Ben Holmes also had a strong game, registering 10 kills, while Patrik Toze contributed nine. Setter Tom Wass had 28 assists in the victory.
The Kings are back on the floor on Jan. 10 against the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.
