RDC will be the host site for two big stops on the Alberta College Athletic Conference calendar next year.

During the annual Alberta College Athletic Conference league meetings this week, the association announced that RDC will two provincial championships next year.

From Feb. 25-27, RDC will be the sit of the ACAC Women’s Volleyball Championship and then on March 4-6, they will host the ACAC Women’s Basketball Championships.

RDC hosted last the ACAC Women’s Volleyball Championship in 2016 and also hosted in 2013. They have never hosted the ACAC Women’s Basketball Championships.

As host, the school gets an automatic bid into the championship tournament, which features the top four teams from the north and south division.

Last year, the Queens volleyball team lost in the gold medal match in the ACAC Championship final and ended up with bronze at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Women’s Volleyball Championship. Queens basketball did not qualify for the provincial championship last year.
