Red Deer’s Bennett Love wins MJT Mini Tour event

Bennett Love had another strong showing on the golf course this weekend.

The Red Deer product fired an even-par 72 at the final stop on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Mini Tour.

Love, 8, earned his third win of the season in the Under 8 Boys division on the 3000-yard modified course in Strathmore.

“I feel happy and excited,” he said in an MJT press release. “It was nice to go make a few birdies and shoot even.”

Red Deer’s Serin Girard, in her second season on the MJT Mini Tour earned her first career win in the girls 9-10 division. She fired a round of 82 to capture the win, nine strokes better than Oliva Johnson of Calgary.
