Riggers rained out in playoff opener

Rainy conditions throughout the day Tuesday have forced the Red Deer Riggers to reschedule their playoff opener.

Originally, they were set to host the Sherwood Park Athletics in game 1 of the Sunburst Baseball League semifinal on Tuesday at Great Chief Park.

As it stands, game 2 of the series is set for Wednesday in Sherwood Park, with game 3 if necessary back in Red Deer on Thursday at Great Chief Park.

In the 2017 playoffs, the Riggers and Athletics were rained out in game 2 of their best-of-five series.

More to come.
